On 4 - 5 November 2025, SRA-E Nordic, IDA Risk and Copenhagen University College organised the 9th SRA-E Nordic Conference.

Titled: “Uncertainties and Opportunities for Risk Analysis in the Nordic Region”, this year’s meeting gathered researchers and practitioners in Copenhagen, Denmark, to discuss current research on risk perception, communication, assessment, governance, management and risk policy, with focus on the Nordic, Baltic and Arctic areas.

Among the participants was Professor Aistė Balžekienė (Kaunas University of Technology). On 5 November, she delivered a keynote talk: “Proximity and Risk: Challenges for Societal Resilience in Baltic States”. This talk explored how proximity shapes risk perception and societal resilience, with examples from the Baltic region in the conditions of polycrises. It was based on the results from research projects highlighting the socio-spatial dimensions of risk perception and social vulnerability.
