DeCrises at the NEEDS 2026 conference
From 28 to 30 April 2026, Kaunas University of Technology will host the NEEDS 2026 conference. Titled "Societal Resilience in Times of Cascading Crises and Disasters", the meeting will address the challenges and opportunities of societal resilience in the context of interconnected crises.
For three days KTU Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts will bring together researchers, practitioners and politicians to discuss how societies can strengthen prevention, preparedness and response to crises on local and global level.
The Organising Committee accepts abstracts and special session proposals for seminars, discussions and presentations on the following topics:
- Conceptualisation of polycrises and cascading crises in emergency management
- Measures and factors of societal resilience
- Risk perception and risk communication
- Civic engagement and participation
- Vulnerabilities in cascading crises
- Technological innovation for disaster preparedness and response
- Or any other relevant topic.
As these themes correspond directly with the objectives of DeCrises, the project will support the conference and will participate in it.
