DeCrises: A lecture on twin transition and MLG
On 30 October 2025, Giga Mukutadze and Md Mashiur Rahman, doctoral researchers from the University of Jyväskylä (JYU), delivered a guest lecture to the students of the Climate Change and Society course at JYU.
The researchers explored the themes of twin transition – from its origins to its future prospects and main challenges, including strategies to overcome them. Afterwards, they discussed the concept of multi-level governance (MLG), explaining its theoretical foundations and core characteristics, and reflecting on its advantages and disadvantages, with practical examples.
At the end of their session, the DeCrises project was showcased. The presenters explained the role of the MLG framework within the project, introduced its work packages and highlighted its objectives, importance and expected results.
After the lecture, attendees had the opportunity to participate in a discussion on digital and green transitions, MLG and the DeCrises project.
